Looks like we will soon see another flip-style phone from Huawei. Dubbed as Huawei Nova Flip, it is slated to make its debut in China on August 6. But you don’t have to wait to take a look at it since various influencers in China have started posting about Nova Flip on Weibo, a budget-friendly flip phone that should slot under the flagship Huawei Pocket 2.

Based on the details from Chinese influencers and reputed tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), we now have hands-on almost every spec there is to know days before the phone hits the market.

Huawei Nova Flip Expected Specifications

Huawei Nova Flip packs in a Kirin 9000 series chipset. Details on the exact chipset remain a bit hazy, although we are getting a Kirin 9000S or Kirin 9010 SoC. If not, the Chinese maker could be cooking up an entirely new chipset developed in-house just like Samsung develops the Exynos line of chipsets. In terms of storage, the phone has 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of options and a single 12GB of RAM configuration to try out.

Moving further, the flip phone has a 6.94” LTPO OLED panel boosting a refresh rate of 120Hz. The cover display, on the other hand, is a regular OLED panel with a 60Hz refresh rate. It is likely 2.14” in size diagonally.

The live images of the device as posted on Weibo show a dual rear camera setup arranged in a vertical stack. It houses a 50MP RYYB snapper with a 1/1.56” sensor and an 8MP ultrawide sensor that doubles as a super macro cam when you need one. Lastly, we have a 32MP selfie camera placed neatly in a punch-hole cut-out on the inner display.

According to GSMArena, Huawei Nova Flip is likely to host a 4,400mAh battery paired with 66W fast charging tech. It is surely a downgraded version compared to Huawei Pocket 2, however, we will have to wait some more time to get the official beat on the same.

The Nova Flip will be available in four color options — Black, Pink, White, and Green. The phone has a glass back version with a thickness of 6.9mm when unfolded 15.12mm when folded and a weight of 199g. On the other hand, a leather/skin version weighs 195g and will be 6.88mm in thickness when folded and 15.08mm when folded.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any information on the pricing at least at the time of writing this. Whether it will arrive outside China and when remains a glooming question as well.
