Exynos-powered Motorola One P40 appears on Geekbench

A quick glance at the Geekbench website got us thinking what if Motorola is testing an upcoming smartphone. A listing appeared on Geekbench showcasing a Motorola device benchmarked on Geekbench 4 under the code-name Vision running a Samsung Exynos 9610 Octa-core.

To put things into perspective, first of all, it will the first device from Motorola to embellish a Samsung’s Exynos 9610 Chipset and not from Qualcomm or MediaTek. Also, since the Geekbench listing didn’t disclose its actual moniker but just a code-name, a rumor posted by GSMArena states that this could be the upcoming Motorola P40 which is evidently the successor to last year’s Motorola P30.

The listing suggests that Motorola Vision or P40 will have an Exynos 9610 chipset with a base frequency of 1.64 GHz with 6GB RAM and an Android Pie 9 out-of-the-box. The device hit 1,599 points on Single-core and 5,328 points on Multi-core on Geekbench 4.3.2. Further, it will be a Motorola One device which hints that it will feature Android One program as well.

Based on the renders that appeared on Twitter handle OnLeaks, Motorola P40 might feature a 6.2-inch punch hole display with a usual Motorola logo embossed on its chin. The render shows that the device will opt for a single front-camera punch-hole display with curved glass at the front and the back. It will further add a dual-camera setup at the back along with a slightly larger front-camera module which seems a little odd though.

Exynos 9610 SoC is equivalent to Snapdragon 660 SoC which is available in Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. Finally, Motorola is about to get its first 5G-enabled device to get a 5G network active in about a week after Verizon posted that it will activate the 5G network in Chicago and Minneapolis for Motorola Moto Z3 with a 5G mod.
