The OnePlus Turbo 6 series finally dropped in China with a hefty 9,000mAh battery pack that is 20 percent larger than the OnePlus 15, and guess what? The phone looks almost similar to the flagship series, but the resemblance ends there. The Chinese smartphone maker rolled out Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V in China with Snapdragon 8 and Snapdragon 7 series chipsets along with 80W SuperVOOC charging, an IP69 rating, and others.
OnePlus Turbo 6 and 6V offer similar price tags, although the former is more premium. OnePlus unveiled the two phones under the Turbo series, aptly dubbed Turbo 6 and 6V. OnePlus Turbo 6 series specifications
The powertrain under the hood
Starting with the powertrain under the hood, we have Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a watered-down variant of Snapdragon 8 Gen4, on the Turbo 6, while the 6V packs a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, and you know where this is going, right? The Turbo 6 is clearly a top contender with up to 412GB UFS 4.1 storage and 16GB LPDDR5X RAM. On the other hand, the Turbo 6V, however, falls short with last-gen 512GB UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB LPDDR4X RAM.
Other specifications include Wi-Fi 7 on the Turbo 6 and Wi-Fi 6 on the Turbo 7; USB-C 2.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, IP66 splash resistance, IP68 submersion, and IP69 hot water jets protection.
The display that ‘displays’
When it comes to certain specs, both devices share them. For instance, we have a 6.78” OLED 1272p+ 10-bit panel. It comes with HDR Vivid, Xreal, and ProXDR certifications. The refresh rate is a point of distinction, as the Turbo 6 packs a 165Hz panel just like the OnePlus 15, while the Turbo 6V display has a 144Hz panel, and no, it is not slower. In fact, by comparison, 144Hz is still faster in phones, given most are at 120Hz as of now. We have peak brightness levels at 1,800 nits and DC dimming, and finally, there’s 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM on-board.
We need all that power to run the device
What good is a phone if it doesn’t have the battery backup of a lion, isn’t it? The OnePlus Turbo 6 series is analogous to amazing battery lives, and the specs don’t fail to impress. We have 9,000mAh batteries on both devices capable of giving ~10.5 hours of gameplay or ~22.5 hours of videos. There’s 80W SuperVOOC wired and 27W reverse charging on both phones.
The camera is not impressive
The OnePlus Turbo 6 Series brings a decent camera setup on board. We have a 50MP primary cam with OIS and 4K@60fps video recording, plus a secondary 2MP auxiliary shooter. There’s a 16MP selfie cam with 1080p@30fps support.
