It’s been three months since the OnePlus 5T was launched and now the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is reported to be working on its next-gen smartphone — the OnePlus 6. OnePlus has established itself as a smartphone vendor with a six-month upgrade cycle and this year also seems be the same.
A couple of live hands-on images of the alleged OnePlus 6 have surfaced and it were first brought to our attention by a leaker named “Kumamoto Science and Technology ” on Weibo. The images were removed after some time but the folks at ITHome were fast enough to grab these image.
The smartphone already has a model name, which is P7819, although, it isn’t in line with what OnePlus traditionally uses to name its flagships and that’s one of the many reasons we can’t conclude if these images are indeed of the OnePlus 6. The device shown in the photos can also be one of the prototypes of the upcoming OnePlus flagship that the company is currently testing and the final product could end up being entirely different.
Going by these photos, the company can have the same fingerprint placement as on the OnePlus 5T, while the rear cameras are now placed vertically and shifted to the middle. The rear side of the device seems to be made out of glass, which indicates the presence of wireless charging. To the front, you can notice a notch up top which is similar to the one we saw on the iPhone X announced last year.

One of the images also shows the phone running Android 8.1 Oreo and it could be powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. As of now, nothing much has leaked about the OnePlus 6 and we expect to know more about the device in the coming weeks. Based on OnePlus’ launch history, the OnePlus 6 should go official sometime in Q2, 2018.
