As Oneplus started as a really small company they are getting bigger. At the top of their management are Pete and Carl. As Oneplus came on the news in December 2013 and at the start of 2014 they had a phone that was ready for selling people are asking how.

At a first look you are really confused, but when you are reading thought all the news you find some really interesting stuff. First of all, Pete is coming from Oppo and there is invested in Oneplus by Oppo investments. And when you are reading even furder their phones are even produced in the same factories as where Oppo makes their phones for the worldwide market. In my opinion Oppo is not ready and it won’t be ready forever to start at the worldwide market. Probably they have started a new company to let it go worldwide from the start. So there is your answer to the question.

But for a lot of people it isn’t ready yet, how can it be so cheap? There are a few simple answers: They make their phone with an invite system, so you need to have an invitation to buy the phone. With that they never have to much of the phone in stock. They are using the production facilities of Oppo so they don’t have to hire production space. They don’t have an expensive marketing department like Samsung or any other big technology company. As their prices are low and the specs are high they don’t have a huge profit. In one of their first announcements they have said “We aren’t going to make any money in the first few years”.

If someone doesn’t know anything about the Oneplus One, here is the specs list:

– It has a 1920x1080P (Full HD) resolution

– It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 at 2.5 GHZ

– It has 3 GB of RAM

– The internal storage is 16 or 64 GB

– It has two colours, Sandstone black or Silk white

– It is delivered with Android 4.4.4, but will have a 5.0.2 update before the end of March

The software delivered with the Oneplus One is Cyanogen OS, I see a lot of people saying Cyanogenmod, but the delivered version is really Cyanogen the difference between those it that Cyanogenmod is community based and totally open source and the Play Store isn’t delivered with it. The company behind that OS is Cyanogen Inc. Oneplus was the first company to get in touch with Cyanogen Inc. As Oneplus had a contract with Cyanogen they were starting to deliver the Oneplus One in India with Cyanogen OS as the standard ROM. In the meanwhile Micromax made a deal with Cyanogen Inc. about being the only company using Cyanogen in India. So there was a stop at the delivering of the Oneplus One for a few weeks because the case was now heading for the court. The first thing that was done in the case was lifting the sales ban of the Oneplus One in India. But still Micromax already made the contract with Cyanogen Inc. so there was no way around it any more. So with that said, the Oneplus One won’t get anycomposition-main-aw OTA (Over the air) updates any more in India. But that doesn’t make it unable for you to flash the original update.zip file from the recovery inside of your Cyanogen phone. The connection between Oneplus and Cyanogen is getting worse by the day, so Oneplus started to work one their own ROM named Oxygen OS. That will be released on or before the 27th of March.

I hope I have told you enough about the entire Oneplus story. Do you still have a question, please put it in the comments of this article and we will get back to you as soon as possible. For now #NeverSettle for anything less than the best articles!
