The South Korean tech giant Samsung is launching its first ‘foldable phone’ aka Galaxy F as it is unofficially known, at the CES 2019 event on February 20. But we seldom hear about the release which is partially clouded by the flagship Galaxy S10 lineup that will be unveiled at the February 20 event in San Francisco.
Well, we have heard about a new Intel of the speculated date of launch of Samsung Galaxy F which is expected to be around late March or in the early days of April rather than the February 20 which seems little too optimistic citing that it is a revolutionizing technology that was in its early stage when it was teased back in November at the Samsung Developer Conference 2018.
The leak came from a well-known blog Tutto Android which has a rapport for being consistent with leaks on prices and configurations on Galaxy S10 lineup as well. The blog has given a name which might turn out to be official as well i.e. ‘Samsung Galaxy Fold’ and yes, the report quotes a whopping €2,000 price tag which is roughly $2.272 USD.
Although this price seems higher but rolls back to previous leaks related to the Samsung Galaxy F prices and you’ll notice that it has been consistently between $1,500 to $2,000 or slightly more or less. It was later teased by an anonymous Samsung executive that Galaxy F will cost twice as much as premium flagship smartphone and thus, the $2,000 price estimate came out to be.
Well, other possible specifications include a 5.1” OLED inward foldable panel with 6GB RAM and probably a Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor with a slight tinge of 5G support although take it with a pinch of salt. UK’s local carrier EE will be an exclusive seller for the Galaxy F smartphone allowing customers to pay in easy installments. The phone will be launched in major markets such as the US, Korea, China, and the European continent although presence in other markets is still in question.
