We’re starting to hear a lot about the Vivo X300 Ultra camera, and it looks like Vivo is planning something big for smartphone photography. This isn’t just about having a 200MP sensor for the sake of numbers, the leaks hint at powerful sensors and smart tech that could actually make a real difference in the photos you take.

The rear cameras
The back of the Vivo X300 Ultra is said to carry a triple camera setup. What makes this interesting is that it has two 200MP sensors instead of just one. The leaks point to these three:
- 200MP main camera (Sony IMX09E)
- 50MP ultra-wide camera (Sony LYT-828)
- 200MP periscope telephoto (Samsung HPB)
That’s a rare combination, and if it turns out true, this could be one of the most powerful camera systems in any phone right now.
Main camera
The main lens is the Sony IMX09E. This sensor is 1/1.12 inch which is pretty large for a smartphone. Bigger sensors usually mean more light is captured, so photos should look brighter and sharper, especially at night. The sensor also has something called Hybrid Frame-HDR, which basically helps balance bright and dark areas in the same shot. So instead of blown-out highlights or dark shadows, you get a more natural look.
Ultra-wide camera
For ultra-wide, Vivo is using the Sony LYT-828. This sensor is actually used as a main camera in some other models like the cheaper X300 Pro, which shows Vivo is not cutting corners here. Ultra-wide cameras usually suffer in low light, but this sensor is said to perform well, so photos in tricky conditions like evenings should still look clear.
Periscope telephoto
The periscope camera is the most talked about part. It’s supposed to be a 200MP Samsung HPB sensor. With periscope tech, you can zoom far without the lens sticking out too much. Having such a high-resolution sensor here means zoomed-in shots could be super detailed, something that even most flagships struggle with.
Front camera and chipset
The phone is also expected to have a 50MP selfie camera on the front with autofocus and a wide 92 degree field of view. That should make group selfies easier. Running all these heavy camera tasks will be the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. It’s still in development, but it’s built to handle huge image files and complex processing.
