Xiaomi Mi Max 3 launched in Taiwan, Global Launch Imminent

After its China-only release last month, Xiaomi has officially launched the latest phablet-size smartphone Xiaomi Mi Max 3 in Taiwan which signals its global launch which is great for Mi fans as it has been one of the most-anticipated smartphones thanks to its over-the-average specifications and a phenomenal battery size. Along with Mi Max 3, Xiaomi unveiled its Mi Band 3 smartwatch for the Taiwanese local market.

As per the pricing declared at the Taiwan event, Xiaomi has quoted a price tag of NTW$7,999 which is around $260 USD for its 64GB + 4GB RAM variant since the one with 128GB + 6GB RAM variant will not be available in Taiwan. The smartphone will go on sale on September 01 and will be available at Xiaomi Store, PCHome, Mi.Com, and Xiaomi Home as of now.

Talking about the phone, Xiaomi has been able to squeeze a Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor with Adreno 509 GPU in Xiaomi Mi Max 3 along with a phenomenal 5,500mAh battery capacity which is undoubtedly bigger than other smartphones in the market and even bigger than Samsung Galaxy Note 9’s 4,000mAh battery. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.5 skin and it could be expected that it will get its Android Pie upgrade once Google is ready to roll out public updates after updating Android Beta and Android One devices.

The smartphone sports a 12MP + 5MP depth-sensing camera with a dual pixel PDAF, an aperture of f/1.9 and pixel size of 1.4micrometer mounted on the primary lens that goes in line with the latest Xiaomi Mi A2 that was launched a few weeks ago. The rear camera setup can shoot up to 2160p of videos while the 720p and 1080p at 30fps get the gyro-EIS feature. The front side has an 8MP lens with an aperture of f/2.0 and pixel size 1.12micrometer that take bright and clear pictures and videos up to 1080p.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Xiaomi Quick Charge 3.0 fast battery charging feature that will charge the 5,500 mAh Li-ion battery pretty fast. You can choose from Gold, Blue, Champagne, and Black color variant once it is available in the global market.
