Xiaomi unveiled its Redmi 6 series with Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A a while back but left a prominent device – the Redmi Note 6. Previously, two smartphones appeared on EEC bearing model number M1806E7TG and M1806R7TH and speculated to be for Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 and Redmi 6 Pro, however, the latter was launched as Mi A2 Lite outside India. But a new image has been leaked on the Chinese social media site Weibo showing the display panel and digitizer for was we assume is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6.
The image showcase screen+digitizer which hints that the Redmi Note 6 will be the second smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer to sport a notched display, something that was popularized by Apple iPhone X last year. Xiaomi unveiled its Xiaomi Mi A2 with a notch but then, stuck to tall display on Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A flagging Redmi Note 6 as the second Xiaomi device to sport a notch and it is comparatively small and gives a lot of screen real estate to view on its massive 6.18-inch display. The notch houses a selfie camera, proximity sensor and an additional hole in the display could mean that it might have an infrared camera for facial recognition.
Moving further, the display was leaked after it was posted on Aliexpress and fetches to a price tag of around $58. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 is speculated to sport an above average Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB configuration. Leaks have been intensifying for upcoming smartphones due to numerous spy shots and leaksters. For instance, Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL received the largest number of leaks and it is even being sold in the black market almost a month before its official October 6 launch.
Similarly, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 faced too many leaks followed by Huawei Mate 20 series, Motorola P30 series, among others.
