Apple iPhone 15 series is literally slated to arrive a year later and still, there’s a lot that has been floating on the web. The latest piece of information comes from tipster @ShrimpApplePro on Twitter according to whom, Apple is working on a new iPhone 15 design overhaul, with rounded borders on the edges, unlike iPhone 14 series flat-sided design.

Apple could include rounded edges onboard iPhone 15 series. If that’s not enough, the same leakster has mentioned that the upcoming iPhone 15 design will upgrade to a titanium material structure accompanied by a back glass. Here, the rounded edges will make the transitions from the side frame to the back glass much more subtle. However, do note that the information is still too early to confirm so it will take some more time to get mature intel.
Apple iPhone 14 Pro series were earlier rumored to upgrade to titanium chassis although it never played out. Instead, we got iPhone 14 models with aluminum and stainless steel chassis. Similarly, it is unlikely that Apple includes titanium chassis on all iPhone 15 models even if it turns out to be true. It is likely that iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max (which is likely to be summoned as iPhone 15 Ultra), will get their hands on this premium material.
So the new iPhone 15
From the early information that I have, the iPhone 15 will feature a new border design. The back edge corner (as pointed out in the images) will be rounded and not square anymore.

The folks at TechRadar did some analysis. According to them, titanium is more expensive than stainless steel at $35 to $50/kg whereas the latter is priced at $1 to $1.50/kg. You can instantly see the disparity in pricing since titanium is literally 35 times more expensive than stainless steel even if you consider the lower price bands for the material. There’s still a lot of processing such as etching remaining which will add to the cost as well.
iPhone 15 series is slated to launch sometime in September 2023. The EU units are likely to get a USB-C port instead of Lightning Port although it remains to be seen if this is followed across the globe. Apart from that, there’s speculation on upgrading from a physical button to a solid-state volume plus power button.
