Upcoming Smartphones in July 2024
Let’s dive into the list to find some of the promising releases this month.
Motorola Razr 50
Released: July 4
Technically, the Motorola Razr 50 Series came in June but not in India. However, it finally made its appearance on July 4 (Thursday)in India, the Moto Razr 50 is the entry-level clamshell-style foldable smartphone sporting a Dimensity 7300X under the hood. It uses HyperEngine for graphics powered by MediaTek.
It uses a 6.9” FHD+ pOLED panel with a 1-165Hz variable refresh rate on the inside and the brightness fires up to 3,000 nits. On the other hand, its cover display is a ginormous 3.6” which is pretty big for these foldable phones.
We have a 4,200mAh battery under the hood paired with 45W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. There’s Android 14 with Moto MyUX on top and the phone enjoys an IPX8 water resistance – the first of Moto Razr devices.
The phone borrows a 32MP selfie shooter. The rear setup has a 50MP primary cam with OIS plus a 13MP ultrawide snapper with 120° FoV. You can choose from Arabesque, Pumice Stone, and Steel Wool colorways and these are vegan leather panels.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra
Released: July 4
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, the ultimate edition to the vanilla Razr 50, brings a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC under the hood. It has a UFS 4.0 storage up to 512GB instead of UFS 2.2 as in the case of Razr 50. There’s a 32MP front while the rear camera assembly houses a 50MP primary OIS plus a 50MP telephoto snapper with 2x optical zoom.
It shares most of its specs with the vanilla version including the primary display size and specs plus a 4” cover display on top. The battery onboard is a bit smaller than the vanilla version at 4,000mAh paired with a 45W fast wired and 15W wireless charging tech. Again, the IPX8 rating is here. The Android 14 with Moto MyUX is there to name a few.
CMF Phone 1
Release Date: July 8
CMF Phone 1, the first-ever smartphone from Nothing’s sub-brand CMF, is expected to launch on July 8 with a Dimensity 7300 SoC under the hood. The phone will pick up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage that can be expanded to 2TB using a microSD card slot. There’s a 50MP plus depth sensor at the back plus a 16MP selfie shooter when it comes to optics.
The phone is likely to host a 5,000mAh battery with 33W. It seems like a lite version of Nothing Phone (2a) that was released a few months ago. With that being said, the phone is expected to arrive with a discounted price tag of INR 15,999/- for the base variant once it arrives in India.
Xiaomi Redmi 13 5G
Release Date: July 9
Xiaomi India has tens of launches across budget to midrange to flagship series every year. Xiaomi Redmi 13 5G is a budget-friendly phone powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE SoC – almost the same chipset as Redmi 12 5G. Still, I would expect a slight (but probably unnoticeable) difference in performance.
Talking about Redmi 13 5G, it brings a 6.79” FHD+ LCD panel, there’s HyperOS UI on top, and a beefy 5,030mAH battery under the hood supplied with a 33W fast charging support. Regarding the camera, Redmi 13 5G is touted to use a 13MP selfie plus a 108MP 3x zoom plus a 2MP rear setup. The phone is expected to be priced under INR 15,000/- as it gears up for its launch on July 9 at noon. You can choose between Black Diamond, Hawaiian Blue, and Orchid Pink colorways.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6
Release Date: July 10
Starting with the Galaxy Z Fold6, the phone is all set to arrive with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood. Interestingly, Galaxy Z Fold6 will be 14g lighter, and 1.3mm thinner (when folded) and will have a better battery life of 4,400mAh pack on-board. The primary display is at 7.6” with a max brightness of 2,600nits (from 1,750 nits on the Fold5). It uses a Dynamic AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The cover display is rocked at 6.3” which is equivalent to an entire phone’s display housing.
The phone will see a triple rear cam setup housing a 50MP primary, a 10MP telephoto with OIS, and a 12MP ultra-wide angle cam. You can choose between silver, dark navy blue, and pink colorways for the Galaxy Z Fold6. Samsung is using an improved Armor Aluminum frame that should give Z Fold6 better durability along with a better UTG it is packing already.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6
Release Date: July 10
Arriving alongside the Z Fold6, the Z Flip6 will bring its clamshell-style foldable design with a 6.7” Dynamic AMOLED 2x display. There’s Corning Gorilla Armor on top. There’s a 3.4” outer screen as well which is comparable to its predecessor. Z Flip6 uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood supplied with 12GB of RAM (a major improvement over 8GB from its predecessor).
Samsung is also upping the game in terms of battery capacity from 3,700mAh to 4,000mAh touted to bring three hours of more video playback support. Other specs include a 50MP primary camera with OIS instead of 12MP sharing the rear cam module with a 12MP ultrawide snapper. Apparently, the latest leaks ahead of launch reveals it all.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra
Release Date: July 10 (Speculated)
Take this with a pinch of salt. Samsung is reportedly working on a premium-cadre Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra. Touted to be priced above Z Fold6 (of course), the Ultra reportedly has a narrow 6.2” outer display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Armor. It could get a 200MP primary snapper at the back borrowed from Galaxy S24 Ultra. There’s a 10MP 5x telephoto cam and another 10MP 3x telephoto cam to flank it as well. In fact, we have heard about a thinner Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim as well although there isn’t much information about it at the moment.
Oppo Reno12
Release Date: July 12
There’s a new Oppo Reno phone every six months. The last Reno11 series was released in January which means it’s time for the Reno12 series. Presenting the Reno12, the phone powered by a Dimensity 7300 SoC with AI features. A 5,000mAh battery backs up the device while you use it and an 80W SuperVOOC wired support comes out handy when the battery is low.
Reno12 uses a Sony LYT-600 50MP shooter with OIS, a telephoto lens, and a 2MP macro lens at the back while the front is a 32MP shooter.
Oppo Reno12 Pro

Oppo Reno12 Pro shares some of the specs from its vanilla version. It includes Dimensity 7300 SoC, AI features, IP65-rating, and a 6.7″ FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED panel with a ‘Quad-Micro Curved Infinite View’ that minimizes bezels significantly.
Oppo is exploring a dual-texture back panel with Oppo Glow Technology on top that resists smudges while the rear has a glossy finish with Oppo’s logo. On the optics end, we have a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary cam with OIS, a Samsung JN5 50MP 2x telephoto sensor, and an 8MP Sony IMX355 UW lens at the back. The front is a 50MP HD shooter housed in a punch-hole cut-out.

A one step up on the Honor 200, the Honor 200 Pro uses a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC (yes, it is a flagship). There’s up to 1TB storage and 16GB of RAM. The phone takes specs from the vanilla Honor 200 and adds its leverage a bit such as a secondary 2MP depth cam at the front (while all other cams remain identical). There’s a 6.78” OLED display with 1224×2700 pixels resolution with HDR, 120Hz refresh rate, and 4000 nits of peak brightness. Luckily, the international version packs in IP65 so we should be hoping for it on the Indian version as well.
