- Huawei Mate 70 series has reportedly delayed its launch timeline till mid-to-late Q4 this year.
- The new Kirin 5G SoC and HarmonyOS NEXT integration on the device is possibly the root cause.
- Huawei Mate 70 Series will launch with a 1.5K LTPO panel, OV50K ultra-large camera, and HarmonyOS NEXT on the software front.
Huawei Mate 70 Series destined to launch sometime in August in China has reportedly been pushed back to mid-to-late Q4 2024. This doesn’t come as a surprise given how Huawei has been imposed with sanctions including the ones with SK Hynix RAM chips and components that we saw in last year’s Mate 60 Pro as well.
Huawei Mate 70 Series Launch Reportedly Delayed
The delayed timeline was quoted by tipster Digital Chat Station who has a reputation that precedes him. The information points out Huawei Mate 70 Series will be postponed to mid-to-late Q4 2024 release in China. It remains to be seen if the Mate 70 Series is available outside its home country as well.
Unfortunately, we don’t have much information about the upcoming series. It is speculated to come with HarmonyOS NEXT as the first-ever device. Along with that, there’s a new Kirin 5G SoC in the works and these are the two major reasons behind its delayed timeline.
According to DCS, Huawei Mate 70 Series will bring high-end specs including a new Kirin 5G SoC, a 1.5K LTPO panel, an OV50K ultra-large variable aperture cam, and ultra-large silicon batteries, possibly uprooting the 5,000mAh mark. This will power the device while you get your tasks done on the beast.

Another major update is regarding the use of 3D Face Recognition Technology that we’ll see across the Mate 70 series. For those who aren’t aware, this facial unlocking mechanism has been around for years, however, it was seemingly absent on standard Mate models. With the Mate 70 series, Huawei is planning to integrate this technology on both standard and Pro models allowing superior security.
